Project:

Pitch: The Genki adventure is a VR game, an action game and first person shooter game with a 3D environment in an artistic direction inspired by Japon & manga.

Synopsis: Genki is a Japanese child fan of superheroes. Many monsters spend the night in his house and frighten him. One day, he decides to conquer his fear and to drive the monsters out of his house. However, only children can see the monsters, so he must chase them without waking his parents, otherwise he will be punished.

VR is useful for allowing the child to become involved in the game. He also uses items he can re-create in reality (out the game), which are used by parents to help their children overcome their fear of monsters.

Concept:

1.      Character : The character has various actions, such as using his items, moving around the 3D environment and interacting with NPCs.

The player will unlock other areas of play by fighting monsters.

2.      Fight & VR :

  • Items : The player can use different items to fight against the monsters. To use the items, it is necessary to make some gestures with controllers of VR.  The character can unlock items by advancing in the game.

-  A torch light: The torch lamp will scare monsters, and even more those who are sensitive to light.

-  A water sprayer: The sprayer will do damages to creatures. It is an unknown substance that affects monsters.

- Bells: The bells fire the monsters by their noise. Nevertheless, they make noise and can wake up adults.

- Traps: Traps help prevent monsters from fleeing to attack them.

3.      Ennemis : There are different types of enemies, each of wich is particulary sensitive to a particular item.

Enemies can attack, each successful attack removes one or a half-fist on the indicator on the right of the screen.
Enemies have health points that decrease with the use of items. When their life bar is empty, they disappear.

4.      Victory & Game Over :

  • Victory : To win just run away the number of monsters shown at the top right of the screen.

To lose, there are two ways.

  • Game Over :The first is to take 3/6 shots, shown in red by fists to the right of the screen. The second is to wake up parents or other adults.

5.      Levels: The game has several closed areas in which the player can fight creatures. Each part takes place in an area in a limited time and with a target of creatures to fight.

6.      Environment: The elements of the environment are interactive, the character can move and break them.

7.      User Interface :

  • Time

  • Bag with 4 slots

  • Curve of noise related to sleep of parents.

  • The goal with the number of monsters to eliminate, and the number already eliminated.

  • Instructions and tips from Genki’s favorite manga character.

  • The 3 fists representing the life of Genki. Each fist fills half for each wound received.
